Locals Get Their First Tattoos at Grace & Glory's Friday the 13th $20 Tattoo Event
Grace & Glory Tattoo of Murfreesboro held their second Friday the 13th Tattoo Party on October 13 promoting $20 tattoos. Hundreds of people from the area showed up to the event, standing in line for hours waiting to be tattooed. The shop was open from 10 a.m. until nearly one in the morning, almost three hours later than they intended to be open. By the end of the night, the shop’s six artists had tattooed 383 people.
The event attracted both tattoo veterans and those who were coming to get their first tattoo. The combination of affordability and the spontaneity of getting a first tattoo off of a pre-drawn flash sheet at an event like this made for the perfect atmosphere of excitement and nerves. Many of the first timers were noticeably eager, and some of them were more than happy to talk about the unique experience they were about to have.

“Grace & Glory held their second Friday the 13th $20 tattoo event on October 13th, and we asked people in line getting their first tattoos why they came to this event. Some people, like Angela Atkinson, came because the tattoos were affordable.”

“Well, it was a bit cheaper than normal, so that kind of helped since I don’t have a lot of money. But I like the designs and I thought it would be good to say that I got my first tattoo on Friday the 13th.”

“Others, like Zachary Tackett, saw this as a good opportunity for getting started on their tattoo journey.”

“I’ve always wanted to get tattoos. I want to be fully covered in tattoos. It’s just between work and everything, I just haven’t been able to. Especially with jobs nowadays, they don’t really let you get tattoos the way you want. And my coworkers just told me about this actually. So when they told me about it, I immediately called off work and came here to get it.”

“Grace & Glory’s tattoo event was a big hit in Murfreesboro, with almost 400 people getting tattooed from 10 a.m. to nearly one in the morning. Not only did many people get the experience of getting their first tattoo through this event, but they also walked away from it with an interesting story attached to it.”
