2017 HAS BEEN A YEAR OF SURPRISES IN MANY WAYS. IN TERMS OF FASHION, WE’VE REALLY PUSHED THE LIMITS. CELEBRITIES LIKE ZENDAYA, CARA DELEVINGNE, JADEN SMITH, AND BEYONCE HAVE UNDOUBTEDLY SPARKED SOME OF THE HOTTEST CLOTHING TRENDS OF THE YEAR. CURIOUS TO KNOW HOW OTHERS EVALUATED 2017 FASHION, WE WALKED THE CAMPUS OF MTSU AND TALKED TO STUDENTS ABOUT WHAT THEY THINK.

BIGGEST TRENDS OF THE YEAR?

“I guess like a lot of over-sized clothes… like over-sized jackets, over-sized shirts.”

“I think we’re going back to the late ‘90s, early 2000s with like the statements, the rings, the nails, the big hoops, the natural. Yeah, that’s the trends so far… and being bright and like bold.”

SO WHO INFLUENCES FASHION?

“Rihanna. I love Rihanna. Of course, for sure. She stays on the map. We’re always gonna see Rihanna and her new outfits. As far as guys, I do love A$AP Rocky, Migos – I love what they’re doing, especially that Atlanta scene with Migos, Gucci Mane, Young Dolph. They’re all bringing that whole new like urban, trap, flossy fashion like that Black Beatles fashion, so I love that to the fullest.”
